Of all that has been published about Steve Jobs in the past week, this picture was the one that captured, for me, who he really was.

Taken by Diana Walker, in 2004, in his home office, this photograph captures something of his otherwise private life.

His office, messy, perhaps a bit disorganized, was still a clearinghouse for ideas and decisions.

And it is also a great encouragement to those of us with offices not exactly in pristine condition.
