Dessau

Berlin a Little

On Friday I went on my first and mercifully only all-day field trip with my Visual Culture class to Dessau, the town where the Bauhaus operated from 1925-1932. It actually was a place I had really wanted to visit, as I had learned about the Bauhaus first in my architectural history class at Northeastern and then here. However, the fact that I visited it after only getting three hours of sleep put a bit of a damper on the day. I managed to drag myself an hour across the city from my apartment to meet with my class at 9 AM, and since it was an ‘optional’ (but not really) trip, only 5 people of our class of about 11 made it. What I’m saying is, someone please hand me a medal and coffee, stat.

Despite being what one could accurately call deliriously tired, I did enjoy the 90 minute…
