Andy Warhol painted Campbell’s Soup cans, Brilllo boxes, perfume bottles, and many other objects that we see every day.  He looked at these products and saw art.  Warhol created oil paint on canvas silkscreens of these everyday products, and art collectors weren’t quite sure how to react to them.  Some looked at his paintings as glorified ads.  Art critics asked, “Is it art, or advertising?”  Andy Warhol’s art, along with his quirky personality, drew celebrities and young artists that shadowed him constantly.  Just being within his circle made you a celebrity.  His painting subjects swiftly became famous people and iconic images.  Today, Warhol’s paintings sell for millions.  Steve Kaufman worked as assistant of Andy Warhol, and was very influenced by his art.  Steve learned the art of silkscreening from him, and then went on to become a renowned artist in his own right.  Today, Steve Kaufman’s paintings hang in homes all over the…
